THE GRIM HANDBOOK
Draft for CEO review — edit freely in the Handbook editor.

1. WHAT GRIM IS
GRIM is a corporate-structured Horde organization in World of Warcraft: Forever. We operate as an institution: formal ranks, appointed leadership, departments, an internal economy, and permanent personnel records. The black suit is our brand; the guild tabard is our uniform. We expect discipline, coordination, and loyalty — without military roleplay.

2. RANKS
GRIM uses a corporate pyramid of ten ranks, from Initiate to CEO. Most members hold the lower ranks; higher rank means greater authority, responsibility, and organizational trust. Rank is earned. It is separate from recognition: badges and commendations honor contribution without granting authority.

Initiate — prospective membership. No dues, no obligations, full social access.
Junior Associate through Senior Associate — the membership ranks.
Supervisor through Senior Manager — management, with limited organizational authority.
Director and Executive — department and senior leadership (officers).
CEO — Guild Master and final organizational authority.

3. DEPARTMENTS
The organization is staffed through departments: Executive Office, Finance, Recruitment, Operations, Technology, Human Resources, Community, and Marketing. Positions are appointed by leadership or filled through GRIM Careers on the website. A member's guild rank and their organizational position are separate things: an Executive may serve as CFO; a Senior Associate may serve as Recruitment Manager.

4. BECOMING A MEMBER
Anyone may join GRIM as an Initiate and experience the organization before committing. Full membership is earned by completing onboarding:
- Create a website account (Battle.net sign-in) and complete the membership application.
- Register your character and link your Discord identity (verified by an officer).
- Read this handbook and accept the Membership Agreement.
- Install the official GRIM addon and equip the guild tabard.
- Satisfy the initial promotion fee and receive leadership approval.
Existing members may sponsor or object to your candidacy. Community feedback informs the decision; an authorized officer makes it; the CEO can override it.

5. DUES AND FINANCES
Full members pay modest monthly dues, due on the 1st, based on the level of their highest GRIM character. Initiates pay nothing. Alts never pay separately. The CEO may grant exemptions. Every payment, fee, donation, and expenditure is recorded in a permanent ledger; general financial reports are published to all members. The treasury funds guild events, strategic profession investments, server-wide activities, and organizational reserves. It is not free gold.

6. PROMOTIONS
Promotions may consider character level, current rank, time in rank, standing, commendations, sponsorships, officer approval, and the promotion fee. Payment never guarantees promotion. Members below level 60 have a rank ceiling. Request promotion through the website; leadership evaluates it and records the outcome permanently.

7. COMMENDATIONS AND BADGES
Members recognize each other through commendations in categories such as Leadership, Mentorship, Reliability, and Generosity — one per category per person, tied to your member identity. Totals are public. Badges mark financial contribution, historical membership, and special recognition. Neither grants authority.

8. CONDUCT AND DEPARTURE
Represent GRIM with professionalism. Disputes go to leadership, not guild chat. Promoted members are expected to communicate with leadership before leaving; unexplained departures may be marked AWOL. Members taking a break should tell an officer — a leave of absence costs nothing and preserves your standing. Your personnel record is permanent: contributions, positions, and reputation follow you, not your characters.
